Root Boost Design vs. Sprint Design

I have a friend who has a Evo Design from Sprint. He's interested in some of the roms here, rooting, tethering etc. My question it seems hasn't been asked before. What to look out for flashing roms.

Is the Boost Roms compatible with the Sprint version? If a Boost rom is put on the Sprint phone I'm guessing the MMS settings need to be reverted to Sprint.

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find a thread dealing with it.

I just got the new HTC evo from Boost. it come with the 4.0.3 ice cream os and sense 3.6. can any of you guys tell me how to root this phone. i have the samsung transform ultra boost rooted and it was easy. i also rooted my samsung galaxy 10.1 tab not so easy. any help would be great thanks.

I am not sure which version of the Evo Boost sells, but if you look in the phone section alphabetically, and locate the same phone forum as the phone you have, you will find an "all things root" section at the top of that forum page.
