Root [Boost Mobile] Cyanogen Mod Installer

Do you think it will be able to flash on our phones?

Would we have to fix the updater scripts first?
 
The only thing that I see that I don't like is that it flashes CWM recovery even if you already have TWRP.

Not a real biggie since you can always flash back to TWRP.

Does anyone have a link to a TWRP recovery ZIP that can be flashed in CWM? I know we had zips for the Prevail that would switch back and forth. Just easier than using ODIN.

yes that does sux but if your flashing roms then you should by now know how to flash your own recovery!:D
 
The only 2 ways I know to flash TWRP back on it is either use adb or Odin.

Sure wish we had Bloodawn over here to make us some of those TWRP and CWM flashable zips that will flash via the recovery you're running. He made a bunch of stuff like that for the Marquee. Basebands and all kinds of recovery flashable stuff.

There are flashable recoverys from recovery. I used to keep a few on my device when I still had the S3
 
Hmmmm, do you know if they are up to date with the recovery fix included? The only TWRP and CWM recoveries I know of right now that will allow the internal and sd card to be read are for adb and Odin.

If you know where there is a functional CWM or TWRP that can be flashed through the users current recovery, could you please point me in the right direction? I've looked but haven't found one.

It would be cool to have them but to be honest, I have no problem at all using Odin or adb. :D

I would try to find one that is for sprint/boost that has the same partitions. .. inside the updater script it tells cwm/twrp where to flash the file, slim chance that the other phone would have the same partition number. So if you find one that's compatible with our phone you can just swap the recovery.img for the modified one we need... if you use one from another phone that blood made you will need to swap recovery.img as well as edit the updater script to edit the partition number to match our recovery partition. Bla bla bla bla bla... lol I hope I'm understandable


Edit... The flu twice in like 1 month? Ewwww no fun... I think I'm close to the same boat, the last 2 days I've been having all the symptoms again other than fever.

Nope, I understand you completely. I looked at the one Blood made for the Marquee and this is not gonna work. "/dev/block/mmcblk0p4" plus I'd have to change all the Marquee stuff to our phone. Gotta make it look right too ya know :p. I have been doing a little homework and I think I may have it figured out where I can modify it to work with some script changes. Still, I would prefer some guidance since I haven't done this before.

As you mentioned though, it would be a helluva lot easier just to find one from Sprint/Boost. I took a look at the adb cmds for flashing the image for the S3 and it is this "/dev/block/mmcblk0p18". I've never done anything like this but I want to learn. I soak stuff like this up like a sponge man. lol It always comes in handy down the road. ;)

You are much more experienced at this that I am. Any help teaching me how to do this would be appreciated bro.

And yeah, evidently there are 2 strains of Flu going around. My wife works with public services and she comes into contact with anything that's out there. So far this one isn't near as bad as the last one. I've been guzzling Emer'gen-C and cough syrup & stuff like that. So far I've managed to half-ass keep it at bay. I'll just have to see what happens as it runs it's course. Thanks goodness it didn't start off with a high fever like it did last time. Whew buddy... that 1 was rough! :eek:

that sucks biker! quick home remedy from my grandma who is 91 in December keep on kickin gram we love you! hot tea with two teaspoons of honey and a half teaspoon of cinnamon! hope you feel better!
