Root [Boost Mobile] Does the Samsung galaxy s3 come with an unlocked bootloader?

Ok so I know that on the verizon version it has a locked bootloader but I cant find the answer for boost mobile(my carrier) and I really need to know. I am trying to flash a custom rom and I do not want to brick my device because of the bootloader. Any help would be extremely appreciated, thanks in advance.

Also, if you could help me out with something that would be great because I've seen you around here before (specifically on a thread about how to root a gs3 sphl710t) and you are good with this stuff. Anyway I'm trying to flash a custom kernel to my device (which is the tri band) and in philz touch recovery it says that it was flashed but when I go to check the kernel in settings, the end result is the same. Here is a link to the kernel I am trying to flash
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174403 and I am running cm11 snapshot 10. I really appreciate your help :)

If you flashed it in recovery, its in there. As long as you're flashing the right zip file. What does it say in settings for kernel?

Make sure you wipe cache and dalvik cache before you flash the kernel.
That shouldn't be necessary for just a kernel flash. Make sure you're selecting the right file to flash. I've never seen a kernel flash that resulted in no change. Look in the zip file, make sure it has a boot.img in it.
(Sorry didn't mean to butt in)

Please go ahead and butt in lol. I'm kind of out of ideas on that one.

Is this the one you're flashing? Hopefully one of the first 2. I would say use the one that says for older Roms since m10 snapshot is a little older. But make backups (only need to backup boot) and try both.
