Root [Boost Mobile] Enterprise Management Client?

RedMurkal

Well-Known Member
So I was installing avast! anti-theft. During the install process Im informed of an issue with the Enterprise Management Client. This is not something Ive willingly put on my phone. Avast! Informed me it needs to be remove do to its high SMS priorty. I did a search and it seams it can be linked to some kind of on line account. Can anyone give me a caveman explanation of what this is. Any help is appreciated.

I was searching about it and found this in Avast forums:

http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=101365.0

and inside:

3) Find "Enterprise Management Client" in the running processes, under the "All" tab. Clear the data, and disable.
4) Find "Sprint Connections Optimizer" in the running processes, under the "All" tab. Clear the data, and disable.
5) Reboot your phone.

I think devs should look this and take off this bloatware from our phones.

Update: I didn't find "Sprint Connections Optimizer" in my Warp but "Enterprise Management Client 1.3.0.84" is there (found it using Titanium Backup). I have HaloBean rom.

Guess I should have been able to find that. Thanx nice to know I dont need it.

What from are you currently running? Most if not all of the roms under current development have had the connections optimizer removed. I ran ps in terminal and could not find any trace of connections optimizer or enterprise management client running. I am however running DS for the ZTE Force at the moment, but I will verify warp when I get home.

Thanks for the find RedMurkal, I noticed this earlier this morning... HaloBean has the connections optimizer in there but upon trying to open, it force closes. I need to remove it from the menu completely...

You need to edit the phone.apk to remove the connections optimizer from settings. Decompile the apk and run grep on connections optimizer, or feel free to use DS as a guide

I found "Enterprise Management Client 1.3.0.84" but no connection optimizer. I'm running HaloBean.

Settings, more..., mobile networks, then it'll be in there, second option. Press it and it'll force close.

Awesome, thanks a lot man I'll reverse engineer it and add it in when I figure it out :D how does that go into phone.apk? Does that apk control mobile networks or something?

the phone.apk is linked into the settings menu just like our added apps are, so if you remove it from the settings.apk you end up removing all call settings. If you trim it from the phone.apk it removes just the optimizer
