Gapps is Google Apps

Yep. Very rarely do you ever see a GAPPS error when running a non AOSP ROM although I have seen a GAPPS error once while running Conquest. Pretty sure it had to do with the fact that I had just switched from AICP back to Conquest. Really not sure though. Like I said, I've only had a GAPPS error once while running a stock based ROM.

In the past when I've had Play store issues I would go into phone settings/ Apps/ Google Play and wipe the data and reboot. That has always solved Play store issues for me in the past.

Whatever's causing it, I hope he ends up getting it fixed. Having Play store issues can be a pain in the butt.

Very simply, as soon as the phone starts up, I keep getting the "Google Play Services has stopped" error... and never just the one time. It is always a minimum of twice in a row. The longest streak was six consecutive times... even crashing while I was in the middle of submitting the crash report for the first time.

It is especially onerous when it comes to anything requiring location services. As soon as I toggle it on or off (doesn't matter), it crashes immediately. I use the maps app daily, practically. So that is frustrating and tiresome alone, let alone the signal problems.

T-Mobile is looking like my next likely choice in large part because fellow workers at the yard that have T-Mobile seem to be able to do anything and everything they could want with their phones. But after this experience the last five months with Boost Mobile (and Sprint by association), I don't feel ready to trust another provider so openly. The thought of an unlocked phone being able to freely switch if need be is especially attractive in this kind of situation.

I'm especially PO'd because it was by their insistence I was made to get a replacement phone. and after it proved that nothing was wrong with the phone itself they still were obstinate. and even with the federal unlock law, they still refuse to cooperate or simplyd o the right thing and unlock this S3 so I could use it elsewhere.

Pending on location T-Mobile has been in my situation have by the far worst decision I ever made I will never go back to their false ads of 4glte 0.01-0.10 download speeds on that so called 4glte for me totally sucks most of all I fell on the hood latch of a f350 while I was changing intake manifold resulted in cracked sternum 2 broken ribs I hit my left side broke the 2nd rib n ruptured my kidnee n was pizzin blood I was using the moto x at that moment with t stinking mobile and could not call 911 for help u can imagine the fear that goes through someones mind at that point so I drove myself with GPS thinking I would just go er myself that was total failure it stopped working just paid my bill.
So I had to drive for over an hour in this condition to get back to my home town
Just the day before I didn't have cell problems.
That day I did which could have killed me
And after I got home from er n reallizim set in I call tech support that no good bettsy had gull to laugh n hang up on me talking bout upset.......screammmmm not the word for it I wanted to punch rite through that phone.

I went on their site supplied screen shots of failed 911 n they even admitted they seen in the call logs of who I called n for how long for n admitted to me they have failed to provide 911 to me n yet had nerve to delete my post n write me off as spam so I couldn't post back there again.

Not once have I ever showed them any once of aggression even after all I been through they were very sympathetic over my situation n had provided me replacements over now 6 phones n this sgs3 has been the best so far even after unlock root wicked x .carbon hyper drive with small issues.

So yes sir I totally understand being pizzin off over the situation I totally agree n feel for you over this loss .
Only true fast resolvement is trying to get that phone back to original close as possible n try different location best buy tell them its just not working
Or try to find out how to get insurance extended then they have no choice but to replace it tell them u have tried everything but never tell them u rooted ur phone if u have not then ur in the clear.

Your situation sucks n I know it trust me been there.

Codzero are you running any APP KILLERS ? Answer: uninstall them restart phone in recovery and do a system wipe.. then wipe dalvik cache..

Uninstall any updates to google play services and the google play.apk
As below states that ART RUNTIME ERRORS COULD SUGGEST THAT THIS IS WHY GOOGLE PLAY COULD BE YOUR CAUSE... OVER MOST APK'S

home screen/settings/accounts/google.com ? Question is it checked to sync YES ?
as for it may have been interrupted during an UPDATE! and thus forth causing it to crash? or you need to check for it not to sync and restart your phone and then choose it to start syncing again once back inside google accounts let it rip and see if it starts crashing again??? if it is not crashing then restart the phone and let it come on and see if the errors are still there or are they gone????

try an older version of google play.apk as for I have witnessed in the past
other apps running smoother than butter and then pow!!!!!! the update bashed
up a great working program.

More abrasive try removing your google account from your phone and then do a heavy system clean only having just the apps you need running with nothing else installed only from what is stock.
then add your account after you have stripped it down to the ground to the bare bones with only your google account on it and try running it for a few days and see if that error comes back??? if not then you know your in the clear as others has suggested cwhatever has suggested above to install 5 apps at a time in between not back to back that you used to have or
less abrasive way back up everything you have installed try carefully uninstalling apps 1 at a time ..till you gain further knowledge over this ...???

#8There was a problem with Play Services and the version of ART that was installed with 4.4. The update also updated the ART runtime, so that was probably why it I suggest the #7 because of different roms and floating around that maybe this could help explain over more details on this gentlemans painful unfortunate situation that has been on going for so long...

Please read over all topics as for I feel he has provided loads of information over his situation he has been really trying for days to have this resolved though there has been otheres in this disgustion has provided a great deal of assistance. Conquest does have a messaging app. It actually has several to choose from during installation. Hangouts is the default app. When installing the ROM, I recommend doing a custom install so you can choose the apps you want. Conquest has a ton of app choices. Either stock TouchWiz apps or AOSP apps can be picked.

As for your Play issue, that one really has me stumped. The only thing I know to do is either go into settings/ apps and wipe Google Play data or do a fresh install. I know you've done a fresh install and I'm pretty sure I remember reading where you had also cleared the app data. I wish I knew something else I could recommend but I'm at a loss. I hope you get it fixed because I know it has got to be a total pain dealing with it.

By the comments are saying over this app being a very WOPPING DATA HOG! of some said 1.5 gigs CURSES thats terrible data usage in a short time...and Heaping Errors as a result to it being installed

Now I'am wondering something bro....
had anytime you take notice in your phone of how much data usage was used as for I'am now thinking I'am getting close to a resolvement here.......

Upload test keeps failing It's extremely annoying that the upload speed test always keeps failing all the time. This needs fixing for goodness sake. It's definitely the app or servers that are the problem because upload test never fails in Speedtest .net

I know when I hit my data cap before my month was over and it heavily resulted in billions of time out errors....

I'am now on HYPERDRIVE AND HAVE BEEN MOSTLY ERROR FREE
only when I start my phone do I get just 1 error saying SAE has closed error
and maybe now only if I go into google play I will get time out errors if I try downloading 2 apps at a time.. other then that I do have another version of google maps that I'am using But for the sakes of me I don't remember which rom I pulled it from and it has no errors its the 1 that has the Blue Navigator in it and it never fails on this rom...

I now strongly suggest GET RID OF ROOTMETRICS IT'S BEING TOLD DATA HOG

I got tired of my Google Maps crashing all the time or most of the time or seem to take forever to load from the beginning and now it just loads with no errors I'am sure whoever would like to review it will be rather impressed never modified straight from the mods themselves and or Google Because I could not remember which rom or phone I pulled it from all I know is my gmaps are pain free now and loads perfectly in the mean time I will just only submit the screenshots from my phone here so everyone can see it please wait for the pictures>>>> I really hope this helps ya brutha!!!!! keep smilling I'am REALLY TRYING HARDER NOW!!!!!!! For phantom voicemail notifications not disappearing when you have no voicemails
Follow this
go into your notifications on the top of your screen and long press on the [voicemail notification]. [App Info] will appear then touch on "App Info" then take check mark out of the little square [] that says notifications A Warning will appear asking to confirm choose yes or ok then choose
[Force stop] on your phones [voice mail notifications app]
so that the notification disappears up top and will never appear it's ok to do so its just never going to warn you again if a voice mail has arrived just check on your voice mail now and then if you know you had been in poor coverage area..



Also suggested above remove that rootmetrics as for I really feel that this maybe be the source of your problem <<<< anyone else having issues on this model L710 galS3 ??? using this program??please let us know thank you ..

Just a little input on what I'm running. I'm on the Bliss Stalk d2lte ROM and loving it. Everything works great. Also running newest DKP kernel.

tried to flash AOKP's newest nightly, PA Gapps and R2 of the Boost APN Fix... it never finished, because all I kept seeing was the boot-animation and it never progressed from there. Went back to recovery, wiped and (re)installed Conquest Singularity, using the Custom Setup to have the TouchWiz launcher and apps that I care about.

Now, strangely... when I first started up Conquest for the second time, it gave me that phantom voicemail notification even as soon as the first screen of initial setup. However, after that I used the OTA updater and noticed a new update build... 10beta5. Installed that, and rebooted...

Not only did it get rid of the phantom voicemail notifications, it also retrieved the actual voicemail messages I had during that downtime. It also seems to have effectively stopped the "Google Play Services has stopped" errors I was getting.

Now, just as I'm about to reboot to have it start setting up, I get a warning by Philz saying that the install wanted to overwrite something in my Recovery partition, and asks if I want to disable that. Of course I do, since I want to keep that ability to recover. But then when I start up, it just shows me the boot animation looping, and it doesn't go any further. So, what the hell?

SOMETIMES LIKE LIQUID SMOOTH IT SPECIFIED THAT IT WOULD TAKE NEAR 10 MINS TO LOAD. AND OTHER ROMS I REMEMBER SAYING RITE AFTER THE ROM LOAD TO HOME SCREEN SHUT PHONE BACK OFF AND TURN IT BACK OFF BECAUSE THIS HAS TO BE DONE...

Please tell me that you made a back up before doing this and have saved it from your sd over to computer and keeping the copy of back up on your sd

Still, I know one of the other ROMs I was "okay" with back with my prior, pre-Knox S3 was AOKP. I had been wanting to try one of their newer nightly builds, but here's what keeps happening.

Obviously, use Philz Touch, "clean to install a new rom", wipe cache, wipe Dalvik, then install AOKP nightly, PA Gapps, then Boost APN fix R2, in that order.

Now, just as I'm about to reboot to have it start setting up, I get a warning by Philz saying that the install wanted to overwrite something in my Recovery partition, and asks if I want to disable that. Of course I do, since I want to keep that ability to recover. But then when I start up, it just shows me the boot animation looping, and it doesn't go any further. So, what the hell?

1st. Make sure you have the newest d2lte build from Philz flashed. If not, flash it. Also, and this is just the way I do things. I use the reset to install new ROM option in Philz, wipe cache and then wipe Dalvik. I then flash the ROM. Then, in Philz I use the reboot recovery option and boot back into Philz. I then flash my GAPPS and reboot. I wait until the ROM is set up before flashing the APN fix zip. Been doing it that way for awhile with no issues. Sometimes flashing too much at once can cause problems. Also, when it comes to a kernel, I always flash and set the ROM up, boot into Philz and make a backup before flashing a new kernel.

Just wanted to share the steps I use. It's the safest way to flash the ROM and GAPPS together.

Some of the AOSP ROMs have been having issues with PA GAPPS. There was a pretty recent update to PA GAPPS not long ago. I updated my PA GAPPS and haven't had any GAPPS issues. I've probably flashed 6 AOSP ROMs with the newest GAPPS.

I got that message in Philz about wanting to overwrite something. I did the same thing you did and the phone bootlooped. I went back in and went through my flash steps and allowed it to make the changes the 2nd time. The phone booted up fine. I don't know if the ROM required Philz to modify a folder or not. I took the chance and it worked for me. Should work for you as well. Whatever the change it needed to make, you don't have to worry about losing Philz.

EDIT:

Just a heads up on a new ROM that's out that I've been running for over a week now. It's called Bliss Stalk and is based on the BeanStalk ROM. Bliss has been running great for me. I've got the OmniSwitch activated and it's working fine. Once in a while I'll get a pop up saying Omni has force closed. It's a false warning. I've actually been using the OmniSwitch when I got the force close pop up. Omni didn't even crash and kept on working just like it's supposed to. OmniSwitch works fine.

This ROM is awesome. It's definitely my favorite non TouchWiz ROM right now. It runs sooooo freaking smooth man. For people who like those type of ROMs, I highly recommend trying it.

Oh yeah. I'm leaving it. The ROM may help fix the Play store force close issues some are having. I just wanted to share it and show it. Hopefully some members will benefit from the post.
