Root [Boost Mobile] [Guide] Basic Guidelines for posting flashables

This is what I would consider a basic guide for posting your work. Hopefully it helps everyone either in development or as an end user.

First
You need to explain EXACTLY what your posting.
Include warnings.
Include installation instructions(if needed)
If its something you have found, and needs more work to make it working for the Device you have, then state that.
If its a cwm backup.
If its something new that you've worked on. Clearly state that.
If its someone else's work, make sure you give them credit them. Even provide links to the original work, developers like when they have attention to the original work.
THIS INCLUDES APPS, DO NOT INCLUDE ANY APPS WITHOUT THE DEVELOPER'S PERMISSION, EVEN LAUNCHERS.
App developers can't keep track of their work when its just tossed into your rom.
I shouldn't have to say this, but I will make it clear. NO PAID APPS
AND NO EXCEPTIONS TO THAT RULE. (also includes closed beta test apps)
If you use a specific app, please post a link to the playstore, or the developer's thread, just a little bonus to them :)
If you don't know who developed what, ask around. Feel free to pm me, if you can't find it, I will do my best to help you!

Secondly,
And probably the most important, TEST your flashable. Don't post something you have not tested yourself. This could be disastrous, could brick devices.
If you need to, ask for testers.
Now I understand that your work could have bugs, and that is acceptable. But you need to make sure that an end user can restore their phone in case of a bad flash.
We are all not masters of CWM.

Now this is my own note, I would really like to see developers start using the getprop feature in their updater scripts to verify that what is being flashed is meant for the intend device. I myself have watched to many users brick devices by accidentally flashing the wrong zip. We have to realize that partition layout are different across all platforms.
Just my two cents ;)

Honestly this was brought up to me to just post a general guideline for uploads. Its not directed towards anyone, and was designed to be beneficial for the AF community. If anyone feels something should be changed or has a different opinion on any statement made, fell free to voice it. Its about what's best for everyone ;)

Please consider the above post to be fully endorsed by our forums - we will be enforcing to that, no exceptions.

Our turn :) -

I've put this up elsewhere so I'm just cheating by copying - but where it says ROM below - we mean any development - rom, theme, framework, kernel and anything I've left out -

  • Rom announcements -
    • Disclose the source of the rom, an open-source rule
    • Disclose if you've created a new rom from that or have themed an existing rom
    • Disclose what apps you've included - and no paid apps allowed

  • Rom musings and pre-announcements -
    • No teasers
    • When beginning work on a rom or wanting to discuss a rom in process, make clear from the very beginning that the rom is not out, and make clear why you are posting
    • Posting to ask for help or feedback or to see if others want to join as testers or themers or something via PM is ok
    • Posting to create a stir of excitement is a teaser and is not ok
