Root [Boost Mobile] Is this how to remove an assert script to flash a Sprint rom?

Modman

Android Enthusiast
I read this on android central

You do this with 7-Zip/WinRAR

Note: DO NOT EXTRACT ROM!
In the ROM go to:

/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script

1)Open updater-script with a script editor such as notepad/notepad++ (makes things 10x easier), or gedit if you use linux

2)Delete the first line of code (all the way up to the first semicolon you see) and delete the first semi-colon as well

Do not go past the first semiclon when deleteing and DO NOT forget to delete the first semicolon.

There is a video tutorial I made in this post. It should answer all of your questions. If not, let me know. Also, many of the new AOSP Sprint ROMs have UNIFIED builds. Those do now require any asserts to be removed.

EDIT- The asserts can also be removed via a rooted file explorer. The video tutorial would probably be your easiest route right now though. There's a little more to doing it all on your phone.

No offense modman but you're making a lot of threads to ask questions that are answered in previous threads. Might be considerate to read the big threads at the top and ask questions in those. It will help keep things cleaner and also maybe help others with similar questions that are looking in appropriate threads. :)

I agree. Slow your roll there dude. You've started 6 new threads and the majority of the information you need is already posted. All you need to do is slow down and take some time to read.
