I'm really not sure tho, I came to find out the same thing before I go doing something that will make modding this phone even more of a PITA lolz

For me, flashing Philz immediately (i.e. without flashing TWRP first) worked.

lolz tada. philz works good for me too with everything. Havnt really had any issues...luckily I guess. Plus I like that its themable.

Twrp is my favorite recovery. Philz is great too, but when I had philz I was missing twrp

Well I just odined back to stock and there was another update. I took that and now I can not stay rooted. I have tried to flash philz and twrp. No dice. I have once again lost root.

When you were on OA3 did you Odin stock NF4 and it worked??

Standard procedure worked for me.

Flashed philz with odin. Installed update supersu with philz.

Yes it worked I am back on NF4. Sadly 4g still wont work on OctOs. I wish I could remember what I did that made it work the first time.

Ok i had to try it.I was on OA3, i Odin the nf4 tar boom it worked back on nf4. Ilet it boot up then odin philz then in philz settings i reroot then installed supersu now im rooted.Now have to find out how to stop the annoying pop up of update for OA3 [emoji2]

Long press on update, then press app info then uncheck notification's and done no more notification.

Same ones as NF4

If you want to stay on NF4 just Odin the stock tar for it.It will work.

Easier to root I didn't see any advantage being on the other.
