Root [Boost Mobile] [OUTDATED][GUIDE][MD7][MG2] Rooting & Recovery for Galaxy S3(Boost)

Ok I am having problems rooting my phone. I have tried 4 or 5 different methods. I have try CWM, and TWRP for my recovery. I have tried a one click program, and CF auto root. And I even tried something called saferoot that uses command prompt. I have tried to use teamepic as my zip. Every time I think I have it I get this message from SuperSU

I have used the guide in this thread and i can't seem to get it to work. I get the SuperSU binary message. I have used this giude to root my brothers phone first, and when i did it with his phone it work like a perfectly. and i still have the problem with the TWRP being locked. For some reason I can't view anything that is on my SD card or internal memory.

According to Tapatalk, my earlier post Is #50. Follow the tutorial there replacing the steps I have listed in my post. The post also contains the a link to the TWRP Odin image needed. They are the exact steps I used to flash TWRP and root my S3. Once you have got everything set up, you can then choose to flash Philz with the flashable recovery zip. The main thing right now is getting the right TWRP on your phone so you can see your internal and external SD. :thumbup:

OK I now have TWRP in working order. That takes care of the first problem. Now on to my 2nd. I used the Teamepic zip, when I was in TWRP recovery. It looks like it was a success, until I tried to use SuperSU. I got a message that reads:

That is it. Thank you wetbiker7!!!!!!!!!!!! :five: I wish that I had find that method sooner. That allowed me to get the binary that I needed. Once again Thank You for that link wetbker7. I would also like to thank every you else that helped out.

Glad I could help. My best advice for you now is to read anything before flashing it. READ the entire OP. There is also a ROM, MOD, ETC thread that I've put together a long with the help of other members. There is some good information in that thread.

We've got a great member base in here who are very knowledgeable. If you have any questions, please ask before attempting something you are unsure of. I have unfortunately read of several people bricking their phones in the past few days. We don't want you to end up like them.

Thank you. I am nowmtrying to figure out why i was able to root my brothers just find and not my phone. I check and both of use have the same build number. But I suppose it really doesn't matter both are now root successfully.

Yeah, I wouldn't even worry about it buddy. It's rooted and that's what matters. Even better, you were smart enough to do the research and find a way to root it without borking your phone in the process. Nice job!

If the ROMs and mods aren't here or at XDA I pretty much won't use them. As long as the instructions are followed, 99‰ of the content flashed here is tried and true. The reason I didn't say 100% is because there's always the chance of getting a bad download and the fact that even though these phones are the same model, each phone is unique in its own way. A ROM or mod that works great on one phone may not on the other. Nothing as far a bricking the device or anything like that. It's just that some ROMs and mods run better on certain phones and not on others.
