Root [Boost Mobile] Remove call log shortcut?

I want to get rid of it cause it's a bother to me & I never use this shortcut. Is it possible to remove it? I know deleting the icon won't work.

I know certain launchers like "hi launcher" have the ability to hide apps in their app drawer...

Yes, but I don't want to just hide it.. Actually remove it from the Contacts.apk since that is where it is, however, I don't know where the line of code is to completey remove it from the app.
