Can someone make a rom to turn the warp into a tablet for those of us who only use the warp for games emulators the web and media so it would have all dialer functions and radio functions removed to open space and possible ram could one of our devs please write or edit a rom for this

In my experience, disabling the radio does extend battery life, but some apps force close if the phone isn't in airplane mode, thus defeating the purpose. Maybe changing something else would fix this, but I don't know.

Removing the dialer won't free up ram, and it's removal can cause endless force closes. It's also required for Setup, so you can't add your Google account.

Sadly, the best thing you can do is put your phone in airplane mode. Maybe modify the phone to hide signal bars, but that's it. Also, not being able to make calls equals a risk of not being able to call 911. You may think that risk is small, but I have a healthy respect for Murphy's law.

Well maybe instead of removing the dialer it could be hidden or it could be put into like a permanent airplane mode or something to avoid the FC's? Turning this into a tablet might not be so bad for those who wanna upgrade but are still keeping this phone...

Hide the dialer using a 3rd party launcher, such as 360. And if you put your phone in airplane mode, it will stay that way even after rebooting.

I've put a lot of (noob) effort into making a rom like you're asking for. Honestly, it isn't worth the effort. Removing every single file that isn't absolutely necessary will only free a few mb from /system, so it isn't great at all.

Try picking a rom you like and unzipping it. Then remove and replace apps like the launcher and music player.(some launchers have built in music players) Put as much as possible on /system, that way you have room on data for more apps. Toss in a video player from the market. Then zip it up and you're good to go

If someone releases even a semi functional aosp ics/jb rom, you should be able to change the dpi to 240 and the rom will give you the tablet layout ;)
