Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM][MK5][STOCK][ODEXED/DEODEXED]- Virgin Mobile/Boost Mobile

I tried the Odexed version of this yesterday. I also flashed the MK5 modem. I was told I had very low audio when making phone calls (to the people on the other end.) It also took 3 or 4 seconds after I answered before they could hear me. I kind of was ready for this issue since I read about it in the thread for Sprint version of this update at XDA but figured since I had the day off I would try it. I gave up and restored my 4.1.2 nandroid. I just thought I would post my experience. It's weird how some people have this issue but others don't. I didn't see many complaints about it here so I thought I would try. No time to mess with it the rest of the week though I need my phone for work.

Do me a favor when you flash it again. First, do a full wipe. Second, flash from an odexed version of 4.1.2. That shouldn't matter, but it might. And when you first boot, run ##72786# to activate(with MK5 modem of course). See if that helps. Good luck

I formatted cache, system, data and internal sd memory so every was fresh. Should I not have done that? After first boot I updated profile, but I did not try the activate dialer code. 4G was working and everything but calls just sounded awful and that delay when answering calls was weird. I ended up calling myself with the land line a bunch of times trying to figure it out.

I was looking around the MK3 Cnexus thread and I read that a DKP test kernel may have helped. When I get around to it I'll try your suggestion and that kernel if it still doesn't work.

You may not believe this craziness but it may be a geographical issue with the delay and messed up calls. I went to Chicago for a wedding, changed nothing, had both. Got back to Nashville, again not changing anything, and back to perfect. I think it might be something with the strength of signal in relation to /Sprint/Boost, if that makes sense. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

That is strange except that 4.1.2 works flawlessly and I have good signal. Still though it has to be something since it doesn't affect everyone and that could very well be a possibility. I hope Samsung releases a bug fix soon.

My 4G no longer works. I have no access to my external SD card and when I try to flash a ROM through CWM it shows nothing. It won't show my files on the internal SD. Please Help!

Ok got a couple of issues I can't seem to figure out how ta fix.

1: I have this "preparing network" icon at the top that doesn't go away. I am guessing from the looks of things it's the network synchronizing part. Is there a way to get rid of this icon?
If I force close/stop it it just returns after I boot again.

2: I was trying to fix the sms and flashed a apn fix zip...but....I think that was for aosp roms, and not TW. Now I lost my data connection all together, is there a way to get it back without flashing the entire rom again?

And lastly, does anyone know or have a link for the sms fix, or how to get into those settings, i forgot how on TW.

Update:
I just redid the rom, was faster that way so everything is working except for 2 things....
-the annoying "preparing network" so if anyone has a fix I'd be grateful
-mms fix for touchwiz

Update2:

Searched and found an mms fix and got that running.....and the preparing network was from not using mk5......flashed mk5 modem and it finished updated android.

So as a side note make SURE you are using mk5 modem/baseband. I was on MD7, which is still JB but I guess it doesn't like to work with this rom.

Anyone else having issues w phone calls. I have a delay when making and receiving calls. I would like to revert my phone back to complete stock...any ideas on how to do this??

Try turning off noise reduction. It may help.

Any idea why I can't call a certain number. He can call me BUT I can't call him. Everytime I call him, it rings once and goes to his voicemail. He has a boost s3 as well completely stock.

He probably has call forwarding on and doesn't realize it. Tell him to call " *720 ".

Other than that I would not know... I would have to think its not your phone if you can call other people

That sounds about right I used to work for a authorized reseller and from my experience that sounds like it.

I was having issues with MD7 for some strange reason I kept getting a "Contacts Stopped Working" message so I wiped/clear device storage and wipe data cache and flashed MK5 so far I'm having no issues at all.

I was using MD7 Rom but I was having issues with the Contacts Always force closing on me So I data wiped/restore. Re-flashed to MK5 now everything is perfectly fine. However I am trying to find the Boost Stock Rom with the Boostmobile Startup Image. I cant seem to find it anywhere. Any Suggestions? Thanks.

This (MK5) is the stock rom. As long as your phone is activated you'll see the Boost boot animation.

edit: unless you mean the one that came on it when it was initially released on Boost? That would be MD7.

when Install the stock rom I can't get data to work I can make and receive calls. The profile and prl update don't work and when I look at the Network it says Samsung. I would appreciate any help

thank you

What modem do you have? And have you tried running self activation(dialing ##72786# on your dial pad). Sounds like maybe your modem didn't flash or you need to reactivate.
