Root [Boost Mobile] USB Connection Issues / 4.4 Official Questions

Alright so I just recovered from the latest build of Liquid Smooth ROM to a backup I saved a few builds back, but I've now noticed that the USB is not being detected from my computer, EXCEPT for when I'm in recovery. I'll get the beautiful *DING* sound and the Removable E: shows up, but I can't open the storage. So when I now try to turn on the phone, it shows it's connected in the notification menu, but then will disconnect and only charge.

Another question I have is since the new OTA 4.4 Offical KitKat came out, how can I update to that (stocked) but possibly rooted. I believe I have a rooted stock from 4.1.2 that I backed-up. And please act like I'm stupid, I'm not good with all the terms you guys throw around. S3 for Dummies Thanks.

Sorry but I never use the USB except for oden.

Have you tried re-flashing your ROM or a different ROM?

Oden won't even recognize my phone.

I'm trying to transfer files, so using it as a Mass Storage from my PC to my Phone. I'm going to flash a different ROM, so I'm going to get my handy dandy old smartphone, plug it in, transfer the file, and then move the SD to my S3. Hope everything works then.
