Root [Boost Mobile] Will this work to return to stock/stock?

KidKelko

Newbie
OK so I have my phone with CWM and I'm running Warp OEM rom. But what I want to do is return my phone to stock rom and stock recovery. Also k do not have access to a computer, so that makes things a bit difficult.

I've downloaded all the stock roms in the ultamite warp drive thread, and a couple stock recovery .img files I found while extensively searching the forum for info on what I'm trying to do.

So what my plan is to flash a stock rom/perform nandroid restore (whichever I haven't decided) to get back to stock. Then through terminal emulator flash recovery image to stock recovery. Then unroot phone.

Does this sound like it will give me full stock? Any tips? Also if I flash a stock rom through TWRP could I use the terminal in there to flash the recovery? I just thought of that while typing this post.

Oh and does anyone know the commands to type into terminal to flash a recovery? That would help a lot as I don't remember them.

Anyway, thanks a ton to all the devs who have made roms and kernels and recoveries and themes. I got my Warp about three weeks ago and I have been downloading and flashing different roms every other day it seems like.

This is just something I want to see if I can do, no real reason behind it. Just in case anyone was wondering why the hell I would want to return to full stock. Or "stock stock" as I've been calling it. Then I will get to rerooting and flashing again.

Thanks to anyone who reads this!

Well you could use a installer script and have it flash the stock recovery as for unrooting it may be harder then that

flashing the rom and the recovery will bring you to full stock yes.
heres for the recovery: [Clicky]

As long as its a unrooted stock ROM yes :) if you want an all in one package for.flashing back to pure stock let me know I can make a stock ROM/recovery flash able :)

Wow, that's an incredible response time! I thought I would be waiting at least a couple hours. Wow, you guys rock my socks.

So the stock rom zips that I have are the ones titled stock_b06_rom-signed.zip or b07 08 and such. Are these unrooted? Or should I go and download the nandroid i saw somewhere. I think I saw a non-rooted nandroid backup for download while I was reading the forum.

Another thing, so I can flash the stock rom or restore nandroid or however I decide to do that part. I've got that down, no problem. Can I flash that recovery you linked me to from CWM? Then I'll have "stock stock"? No flashing .img files from terminal required? That would be sweet.

Thanks again, you guys are amazing.

Hey kid if you downloaded the stocks from Snakes return to stock (I believe they are flashable) that'll give you unrooted ROM with CWM I can make a zip with the stock Recovery so you can flash it or even add it to the Stock B08 you want to use :)

Yeah a zip with the stock recovery would be sweet. That would make things way easier. I think having these things available will be a big help in the event I ever have to return my phone or take it in to Boost.

Kid do you have the stock ROMs on your SD if so try
1)booting into recovery
2)select update from zip
3)try flashing the stock ROM
IT should have the stock recovery in it seeing as the ROM is signed it should work
Let me know :)

Ok so i flashed stock_b08c.zip or whatever you guys know the zip I'm talking about. Total stock. My system is stock, my recovery is stock. Awesome, that was so much easier than i thought it would be. Takes a lot off my mind for inn case anything ever goes horribly wrong.

One quick question. Can you point me in the direction of the one click root and CWM thread. I'll look in the all things root guide. But just in case. I don't remember exactly how i rooted my phone in the first place. Lol.

Thanks so much. Lol, i still have the files on my sd card. I remember now. Ok, to root and get me a custom recovery. Again, thanks, I can tweak my phone to the max with my mind at ease now.

I didn't realize that those stock flashables were THAT stock. You guys got all the bases covered.

Wicked Im rooted and on my way to a custom rom i forgot how much not having that quick settings in the notification bar sucks. Thanks again. Oh and the link to the flashable root isn't working in the guide thread. Just so you know. Idk why. Thanks for putting it here.
