I am fairly new to android but I think ssid is the name of your internet device like att453 or clear 768e and the password will be default unless you have change it.

For Chromecast to work, you need to link it to a wireless router. If you don't have a wireless router, I'm not sure how it is going to work. Your phone must also be on the same wireless router (network) in order for you to control the Chromecast from that phone. Chromecast needs to be controlled by a device via Wifi. That device can be a smartphone, tablet, pc, ipod touch, etc.

Your network SSID is what is being broadcast by the wireless router. If you are turning your phone into a "hotspot" then you must already have rooted your device and installed a wireless tether app. Inside the app it will tell you the default name of the SSID if you go into the settings. As I've stated above, I'm not sure how you would be able to use your phone as your access point and the device to control the Chromecast at the same time (at least based on the instructions Google gives). It may work if you have another device though. Use your phone as the hotspot, then another phone or device (tablet, pc, etc.) to control the chromecast once it sees your phone as the wireless router.
