Root Boot Animation Broken?

So I spent a while poking around the files of my kindle with ES explorer (yeah, IK that can be dangerous...) but I came across the \system\media\bootanimation.zip file. I unzipped it, looked around and tried to make my own animation with my own images and slightly-modified desc.txt. But it did not work. I looked online about android bootanimations, and downloaded one and tried it. Every time, the animation goes black. (At least the device boots anyway, thank the stars). But now, even if I rezip the original bootanimation folder with the shiny text that says "kindle fire," it doesn't work. Did something happen to the files elsewhere I have to fix?I remember the first time I unzipped the bootanimation file, the animation said "ANDROID"- I assume that's the default android animation. Anyone know a solution? Thanks!

EDIT: I just realized that it works if I download a bootanimation file from online. However I'm still interested in making my own bootanimation. Anyone know how to zip your own?
 
Its a very tedious process, but, changing the images but keeping the names work. Remember to have the Same amount, with the same name. I could never write a good tutorial, and I've never done boot animations.
 
MeowDude, if you knew enough about Android to get CMod Tate on there, why would you mess with the launcher?
If you'd like, I could copy Trebuchet on mine and give it to you. That's the name for the launcher on Tate, right?
P.s. I simply downloaded an old Nexus bootanimation

At the time I time It seemed like a good idea, I figured, hey! Since the launcher isn't open cuz im in FX, I'm fine! I was wrong... but that was before I knew TWRP and CM were on tate. Btw, Trebuchet is CMs stock launcher.

EDIT. I'm actually in dire need of a fast boot cable, all the ones on amazon are either no functional or will be delivered by May 25. I'm not touching eBay though, XD

Honestly now I have my own problem - a hardware issue - The power button 98% of the time refuses to work. I have to plug the fire in to turn it on, and do that tap-status-bar shortcut to put it to sleep. I am still trying to find an affordable yet trustworthy button board online...
What was the name of the Launcher apk that you corrupted?
 
Launcher.apk btw, I bought the cable along with a new phone-A Posh Pegasus. Sadly there's no Rom support!
 
It was a system file...
I got my 8.9" kfhd, but I'm VERY SCARED TO ROOT IT! Being on v. 8.4.1 to 8.4.3 is the difference between root and brick. Sadly I have 8.5.1 :(
