Boot Animation for my Wife

Where is the best place to request a boot animation? I'm getting my wife a droid and wanted to make it a little special by putting on a custom boot animation for her. Her name is Evelyn and I wanted to use something similar to this....but just the name. Any ideas? Thanks!

Anyone? :D Maybe how about this, how do I create one? I saw the thread in regards to how to create a boot animation but I guess I need to know how to get the frames that I can rename to png. I was thinking of making a boot animation of Eve from Wall-e? I tried searching for animation frames but I had no luck.

Any experts here in the Android Forums?
 
Well, I can tell you how to convert the images to PNG.

Go here: Free Online Image Editor
Click "File" > "Open". Browse for the file you want to convert and make sure you check "Convert during upload" selected to PNG. This will split a GIF into PNG frames.
 
Note: I have not tried to change my boot animation (yet).

I've read that you dont need root access to do it.

I could possibly creat you one if you could tell me what you are looking for. The image you attached is a static image. Boot animations are of course animated, so what would you like that image to do?
 
Wow. really? After some thought, is there a boot animation you can create using Eve from Wall-e? There really isn't much that I could find in Youtube to turn into an animated GIF.

Can you do me a favor? Go to youtube and pick out a video clip that you like of eva and wall-e and post the link to it here and I'll make the boot animation out of that. I've had a hard time finding a clip you would like. If you could do that for me I can have one for you really quick.
 
Hey there. Hope you don't mind, but created a little boot animation for your wife when I was bored at work today. It's only my second one I've ever done, so might still be a little rough around the edges. On my Eris it loads a little slow until right before the phone boots then it cycles through kind of quick. I am running a custom rom though, so that might have something to do with it. Let me know how it runs on her phone and I can adjust it, or show you how to do it yourself, whichever you prefer. I uploaded it here:

One thing that everybody has overlooked is, did you ask your wife if she wants this? haha. Sometimes our wive's don't really want the same thing that -we- want for their technology. It took my wife two weeks of seeing my customized UI to finally ask, "Can you make mine look nice too?". Before then, she just didn't want it.

Really? The boot animation was 2 posts ahead of yours... It was an early work (my 2nd) and probably could use a little editing, but surprised you looked right over it...
 
I apologize. I did not realize there was a time limit on those files. I hate Rapidshare anyway after they changed a bunch of their policies. I only use Multiupload anymore. Unfortunately, I don't even have this zip anymore either as I made it on another computer that I don't have access to anymore. Also my computer is down due to hard drive issues as well. Hoping to get it fixed up and back on track after work tonight, but we'll see. It might be beyond repair. Anyway, if it is fixed up, I'll give it another go. I enjoy making them and now that I have done quite a few, it doesn't take me near as long as did to make this one. I was also a little annoyed I never got any feed back one way or another from the original poster. I did spend a couple of hours on it, at least I could have got a thanks, but not what I was looking for... Ah well, what are you gonna do?

Are these files device dependent? (just wondering because the Evo resolution != Moment resolution)

Oh man! I'm sorry dude. Really I am. That was ultra rude of me. I actually messed up her phone trying to root it around the time I posted this and I completely forgot about my plans about the boot animation. Please accept my apologies. My thanks is about 3 months late but it's sincere.
 
Apology accepted :) I didn't mean to sound like a whiny bastich...lol Is there still interest in this project? I've been play with my Droid too much and haven't spent time on much of anything else. If there are a few people that still wanna get one of these made, post a short clip and I'll look into it. Later.
