Boot Animations

Could someone please tell me how to change the boot animations and sounds? I'm not having much luck changing them on my own. When I change the boot sound, the old one comes back when I reboot my phone. When I change the animation, I get a combo of the new animation and the old one.

Am I asking in the wrong section? Or, has this been answered already? If so, I apologize. I've done quite a bit of searching. I can't seem to find anything. I could really use some help on this. If someone could lead me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.

Hi rayven :hello:

I moved your thread to the All Things Root forum for you. :)

I'm not sure how it is on your phone. Generally in system/media folder you rename the current bootanimation file and put your new one in. Are you renaming the old one? And its a good idea to make a backup of your original.

Thanks, I managed to find out a bit of info. from Dm47021 on the matter. He told me this:

the animations, and sound are embedded in the ramdisk (kernel) itself. you have to split the kernel / ramdisk. change the images. save to propper .rle format. and repack the kernel + ramdisk.

Lol I'm just a bit worried that I may not be too good at this. I appreciate all of the help that I've got from everyone. Maybe, I'll give it try sometime when I've gained a little more confidence. :-\
