Root Boot-Loader Unlock fail! And Phone Brick When Flashing Roms!

HELLSAINT

Lurker
So I Brought outright an unlocked Xpeira Z from Telstra and I want to install Cyanogenmod 10.1. there are some issues I cannot overcome and help would be wonderful!

My PC OS is Windows 8.

Firstly I tried unlocking the boot-loader using Sony's official method runing Telstra's Xpeira Z stock firmware Boot-loader unlock aloud is yes. (the phone was also rooted with Easy Rooting Toolkit and had clockworkmod recovery 6.0.28 unofficial installed.) Upon rebooting the phone I was stuck in an endless boot-loop! I tried flashing Cyanogenmod 10.1 anyway (I did whipe the cache nandroid backup and data rest.) This left my phone bricked!

I used Flshstool version 0.9.10.6 to restore the firmware (this was the UK stock firmware) I tried all of the above again. And got the same results.

I restored the firmware once again. This time with Sony Update Service. (This was the international stock firmware.) And I attempted to unlock the boot-loader via Flashtool. Once again upon rebooting I was in an endless boot-loop. And once again I tried to flash Cyanogenmod 10.1. And my phone was once again was left bricked!

I have also tried PACman custom ROM. I get the same result.

Sorry this is so long.

I looks like, for whatever reason, unlocking the bootloader is the source of the problem. If simply unlocking it puts the device into a bootloop then something's not right. :(

I suggest contacting Sony to report the issue, and waiting for a response before proceeding further. There's no point in attempting to flash a firmware to the handset if it won't boot correctly to begin with.

p.s. it's not a "brick" unless it's completely unresponsive and DOA. Anything less is usually recoverable, thankfully. :)

I rang Sony and used the online live chat, They said on both times they would not aid in this issue as it is a warranty void... So basically I am screwed!

Did you mention ClockworkMod Recovery and/or CM10?
No, I did not. I think I am past all that to (endless boot-loop remains however.) But I have a new problem now.

I now get this error upon trying to flash Clockworkmod.

sending 'boot' (9848 KB)...

OKAY [ 0.6.20s]

writing 'boot'...

FAILED (remote command: not allowed)

finished. total time: 0.634s
