Help Boot menu

Just bought a used Bionic. VZW sent me a new sim card. When I boot it up, the images shown is what pops up. I have never seen this before on any phone. If I hit "search" to continue, it goes to welcome screen. Then when I touch Android to begin, it says to insert sim card, which is already inserted. If I hit "menu" to go to recovery, and in recovery I select "wipe data/factory reset", It does it's thing, and I'm right back to square one. Any suggestions?

Odd, it would seem you almost have a blank droid bionic...or a defective one.

First of all, that thing that pops up at the start is Safestrap. It's an incredibly useful alternative to the traditional Clockworkmod/stock recovery and should be replaced by it because it's a lot better.

If you don't know what recovery is or about anything I'm talking about above: here.

So, what you can do is possibly just take to the Verizon store and complain and they could throw a new phone your way, or possibly even fix it.

Also try another sim card or even seeing if (and yes I know this is dumb) you put it on right.

Yeah that's Safestrap you're looking at. I'm guessing you just bought the phone off of someone else or eBay/Craigslist? Might have to find out what they did to the phone, doesn't sound good that it's not recognizing that the SIM card is inserted.
