Boot up battery indicator vs. starting up the damn phone

So during my daily boot-up of my energy suck of a device called RAZR, the first time I push the power button after plugging it in all I get is a lovely graphic of a battery showing me what little power it currently has. I have to go through about 4 permutations of plugging in, pressing the power button, tapping on the screen, and re-starting just in order to access the phone itself.

Is there some magic series of steps or setting I can change to not have to see the battery graphic/reboot and just access the damn phone upon boot-up?

The magic is to hold the power button longer than normal

Nope, still have to go through 2-5 iterations of pressing the power button. Have done the experiment many times of actually timing how long each button push should take. Wondering if I have a defective device...

dr01d3tte do you have the phone plugged in to a power outlet when you boot the phone? You need to have the phone unplugged from power when you boot the phone. At least on my phone I always get the battery charging graphic if I boot the phone while it's plugged into power. I know of no way of changing this behaviour...

Not true. You can have it plugged in. Just after the battery indicator pops up keep holding power for a while longer and it will go blank, then power up

I'm not so sure. On both my Motorola Droid X and my Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX, if I boot with power plugged in, I get battery indicator and then the screen will blank. I've let it sit for up to 10 minutes with either a full charge, or the battery completely deleted and charging, and then tap the power button and I get the battery indicator again.

Since you have the Nexus, could your phone behave differently from the Motorola?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why not just plug the phone in when it starts getting low and avoid the whole problem. Doing this, one doesn't need to reboot at all .... well, at least not as often.

No I have the maxx. On this phone and my droid x I could turn it on with it plugged in.

I'm charging my phone now. I turned it off. Waited a few minutes. Press of the power button shows the battery level indicator. I pressed again holding it down, screen goes black (still holding it down) then it booted right up. Released the power button. No problems.

Oh, and I am running ICS.

Exactly what I'm trying to tell every one. Once the battery indicator comes up you press and hold the power button. It takes longer than it normally would.

Maybe don't reboot every day. These phones don't need to be turned off as often as crazies with tinfoil hats might tell you. Every day seems a bit anal. Just my opinion.

Yeah. Why are you booting your phone everyday?
And unplug it to boot up w/o seeing the charging battery splash.

Its recommended to reboot every 2-3 days to clear ram. Just like a computer. And this doesn't have anything to do with rebooting. The op is talking about his phone dying, and trying to turn it back on while its charging
