Possible bootleg phone

Guest
My wife and I recently received phones that she had ordered from a Chinese developer on eBay. Among the issues i see with our phones are pitiful camera quality and severely lacking in storage. Phone storage is at 512mb, but internal storage is only 17.83mb, leaving me completely unable to update apps of any kind. I fear that it has to do with poor quality of the phone from the developer, considering they were only $60. If anyone can tell me something that would help, or at least confirm that we've been burned in this purchase, I would appreciate it. Phone specs are as follows:

Model/Manufacturer/Board: M11

Hardware: mt6572

Total RAM: 462mb
Available RAM: 211mb

Internal Storage: 0.13gb
Available Storage: 0.06gb

Android Version: 4.4.2

API Level: 19

Bootloader: Unknown

Build ID: ZOYU_FOREIGN_LOU_M11_V0.2

Java VM: Dalvik 1.6.0

OpenGL ES: 2.0

Kernal Architecture: armv7l

Kernal Version: 3.4.67 (eng.hechang.1473059173)

Cores: 2

Architecture: 2x ARM Cortex-A7 at 1.30 GHz

These are specs found using CPU-Z, however when looking in my phone settings it tells me im on version 5.1 rather than 4.4.2, so that raises another red flag in my head. If anyone has any idea about the legitimacy of this phone, or if the storage issue can be solved, please let me know.

You can try Storage Truth (if you have room to install it) from @scary alien to view the devices storage:

Don't get those off brand phones.

Sure you might end up with a good one, but they're more of a risky buy compared to the quality name brands. If you don't have the money for one save up for a little longer.

Good Chinese manufacturers: Huawei, ZTE, Oppo, Xiaomi or OnePlus.

Knock-off Samsung Galaxy or Apple iPhone is it? I have seen devices like this, and those things I've highlighted are all true about it. You can't do anything with it, and it is literally garbage. Return for a refund, if no joy with the vendor, then take it up with Ebay.

I don't know what you and your wife wish to do with your phones but unless your expectations are set really low I wouldn't even mess with these phones too much. Their hardware specs are minimal at best and it's not like you can upgrade them beyond their as is condition. Before you get too aggravated trying to push these phones to do things they just aren't capable of, relegate them to be supplemental music players and invest in a couple of more suitable phones.
