Help Bootloader screen

ivykeep

Lurker
I have a droid 2. Earlier today my kids spilled ketchup on the case, which I promptly wiped off and it didn't appear to get into the phone.

A while later whenever I was browsing in the touch screen mode it would open up a screen that showed the volume keys and then launch the camera and start snapping pictures.

When I opened the keyboard, it didn't take photos, but would launch the voice command.

It eventually got so bad that I couldn't do anything on the phone, so I pulled the battery.

When the phone started up it now only shows
Bootloader
D2.37

Battery OK
Ok to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

Nothing I do gets me past this point. Any suggestions?

Pull the battery out. Put the battery in while simultaneously holding the power and x buttons (it can be tricky, but I managed it with my little hands). You should get an android and an exclamation point in a triangle. Press the search button on your keyboard. First try wiping the cache and then rebooting. If that doesn't work, do it again and do a factory data reset (You'll lose all your data, but all your contacts and apps should be backed up with your Google account).

If that doesn't work, you need to learn how to SBF. There's a sticky at the top of the forum, I believe, that will walk you through it.
