In terms of customizations there's a lot of activity as far as custom ROMs and tweaks and stuff on XDA Developers. I've tried 2 ROMs in the last week and decided I wanted to go back to stock.
As far as apps go just browse the android market and Amazon android market and see for yourself what you would like to try.
First off,Id update to 2.3.4.....its the single biggest improvement you can make to this device.......if you still dont like it,consider selling it.I had the droid x,theres still a lot more activity with the x than the x2....I was used to new stuff being available all the time....not with the x2...not many bothering to tinker with it since it was never verizons top dog like the x was for a long time...

Visiting the X forum here I think you're right about the difference in activity between there and here in X2.
Just more going on all around with the X.

onmylevel, If you follow Frisco's instructions here to factory reset and clear cache you should then be able to get the update.

The ROM development is still fairly new on this so it's just a matter of time before some others come out. For me, Go Launcher and some themes seem to keep me pleased. I also applied the pull-down toggles after updating to 2.3.4

Im getting bored with the x2 myself.there was so much going on with the X,it seemed like every couple days a new rom or revsion came out... with the x2,the only rom worth anything is eclipse,and its got a few bugs on my phone,mainly with the asop dialer,and camera that keep me from running it....so im on the stock rom with the bloat frozen....or removed....Id like to see a nice rom with the stock camera....only available in older versions of eclipse that arent set up on 2.3.4
yea i came from an X and it seemed like there was always something new to try... so far none on the roms seem worth trying as of yet. i loved liberty for my X tho. someone wants to trade me a samsung charge for my X2... I'm still kinda on the fence about it, Dont really know much about the charge. I'm actually debating on picking up an OG droid to tinker with. Just havent found one cheap enough yet!
