Root Bothersome Barnacle Bugs

Hey all, having a lot of trouble w/ Barnacle.

I'm rooted. Barnacle runs w/ no error. My and my wife's Lenovos (Vista), and my Wii, can detect the ad-hoc network named "barnacle". But when they try to connect, they just time out after 5 min.

Barnacle shows no sign in the log, traffic, or client window that anything is happening. I've tried setting a static IP, but no difference... Can anyone offer any advice?

I use PDANet to tether. It's great. But the 3G Hotspot would be VERY convenient for us. Are there any other wi-fi tethering options for the Ally?

I've gotten it to work pretty reliably with Ubuntu Linux. My only advice is, be patient and keep trying. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes before it's possible to connect. Not sure why.

Just needed to update the wifi drivers on my laptop.
