Root Bought a rooted phone, But I have problems

Hello all

I have tried searching and couldnt find any useful answers so i will post my situation and hopefully someone will be able to help

Me:
Just purchased mytouch 4g
Software: 2.2
S=OFF when i hold down power button and volume down when powering on

My wifi doesnt work, and i cannot open a wifi hotspot

when i try to enable wifi through the setting page, it just says ERROR and wont turn on


I have spoken with previous owner and he doesnt have a solution. I have read the unrooting guides and what not, but i dont know if there is a different solution since somehow my phone has 2.2 software and maybe that is the issue?

any input, please chime in

thanks but i am having trouble finding a good unroot method to follow.

The previous owner of the phone said to factory reset now, which i did and still in this same situation- he said factory resets will still take place even though root will remain on


so i will try to unroot first,
was looking at using the unlockr method

but i do not know which way the previous owner rooted this phone and that is my only hangup

any unroot method will work...use the Unlokr method

will try everything now and hopefully all works and nothing gets bricked
