Bought a V60 off Amazon

Hello all. I am new to the forum and hoping I can get some good answer to some questions that I have.
most important now is...
I bought a V60 from Amazon as a "renewed" and I would like to know, is there a way that someone can install malware or spyware in to the base install of android 11? so no matter if you factory reset or not, the malware or spyware can not be removed.
If so, is there a way to get rid of it with either a flash or??

if the phone is rooted, then yes you can install malicious apps onto the system partition.....otherwise a factory reset will wipe any malware or spyware.
 
When I bought it, it showed as for tmobil only so, I can guess it is not rooted however, how can i find out if it is rooted or not?
