Love it so far except battery life. The 8.4 has essentially replaced my laptop.

Has anyone noticed the Samsung Music Player (Music) is always running. I rarely use my tab for music (plenty of other gadgets for that) so it's not as if I'm leaving the app open yet it is always on when I check the task manager/active applications. Not only that but their is no "end" option in the Music player settings like there is on my s4. So if you do use the Music player there is no way to close it from the app itself. Anyone have any insight on this?

I suppose I could and then download a new player. Thing is like the built in player fine enough. Also, I have several Samsung devices (two on kitkat) but this is only happening on the tab pro. It isn't too big a deal but I find it strange for the music player to just be constantly running.

Plus...this forum needed some action. No one has posted since before I bought my new tab. I hope that means everyone's new toy is working perfectly!

So how is it? I might be getting one real soon what are the pro's? and con's?

It's great...highly recommend. I would definitely suggest changing the launcher immediately...the new Magazine ux or whatever it is called is terrible, IMHO. Nova makes it lightening fast.

My only issue is that I use Boat Browser and for some reason it is eating the battery...like 30%-50% of my usage. Boat is not acting up on my s4 with kitkat so it is something to do with the 8.4. That said, I'm very pleased.

Owned ours for since March. We are light users, but really enjoy the tab. Light, thin, quick, excellent display, multiple users like windows.

Just checked and did find Music app was active, although we do not use the tab for the music we have loaded. I used task manager just to shut Music off. It did not seem to be consuming battery power however.

Yeah, my music player is always on...even after I force close it opens itself back up. I agree that it doesn't consume too much battery but it shouldn't always be on, especially considering I never open it as I use a different device for music.

I still highly recommend this tablet...blows my Tab 2 out if the water.

I find with my tab pro that if have heavy use the battery life not even close to the advertised 10 hrs. I have set the screen brightness down to about 1/4. That has helped . Also if I have a music player going in the background it sucks power down. Other than that pretty much replaced my laptop

Didn't want to start a new thread so I figured this was the best spot. Just upgraded from a Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 to a Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

Overall I'm liking the move. 8.4 seems to be a perfect size screen. Not to big and not to small.

Got it on sale at Best Buy. And managed to get a nice buyback quote for my Tab 3 as well.

Overall I'm pleased.
