What sorts of airport/airline apps are available and useful? FTR I'm flying Southwest...the greyhound of the skies ;)

It's not that we're ignoring you, it's just that I don't think anyone has a good answer.

There are 2 things I use, but I'm not sure what it is you are looking for exactly. So I'll tell you what I do and hope it helps.

If you want to check on your flight status I use flightstats.com
I go to flightstats.com, click on flights, then flight status by flight.
You said you were on Southwest, so you put WN for the airline and then the flight number below. It will give you departure and arrival, and gate information.

When you get to the page where you enter the airline and flight number, I would bookmark it there so you can check it later a lot easier.

If you want to continue to check the status of your flight I would bookmark the page that displays all of your flight information. Then on one of your home screens create a shortcut to a bookmark and select your flight. If you do this, it's one click a way to check the status of your flight.

An easier way to check it is to hold down the magnifying glass (the search button on the phone), wait for the voice command search to display, then say "Southwest Airlines XXXX (replace the x's with your flight number). Every time I have done this, I find that the top google result is the correct flight I am looking for. Click on it and it will take you to flight stats and display your flight information. Once there, bookmark it, and create a shortcut.

I hope that helps.

Flight stats does have an app, but bookmarks to their website is actually faster.
