I just got the s3 and it seemed ok at first. I activitated, downloaded about 25 of my favorite apps, and started playing robot unicorn attack. I was shocked to see that it lags a bit while I play it-- even with no other active apps. I figured it could be one of my apps that is hogging CPU, but most of my apps are popular ones so I wouldn't think so. Plus they aren't active at the time anyway.
My previous phone had a weaker processor and I never had these problems with that one. Is it possible the phone I got was defective?
Note: I got the virgin mobile model with the 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Krait processor, but that shouldn't make a difference. There were no complaints about this on the virgin mobile website, and sprint has the same model. Verizon also sells a model with the same processor.
I did one of those benchmark speed tests-- the antutu benchmark test. it got a score of about 13000, which is just about the average for the samsung galaxy s2, and behind the (approximately) 18000 of the s3. I did a factor reset of my phone, did the test, and it was a little better at 16331, but that's still behind what the galaxy s3 should have.
How on earth is this happening?
