Help Brand new to Android - 1st dumb question!

Salforal

Lurker
Hi all and festive greetings from England!

I'm new to Android. I have a Samsung Galaxy W (i8150). When I open the shortcuts panel, directly underneath the Wifi/BT etc icons, the word "Virgin" is displayed (feel free to laugh here!).

I'm thinking this line shows the connected service provider, Virgin beinh a UK provider? If so, it's wrong, as I'm with T-Mobile. I have no option to change this on the handset, it seems.

Any idea what's going on?

TIA.

Hi Salforal
Your right that is the network id, mine say O2-UK and I'm on O2 so yours should say T Mobile.
Go to 'Settings', 'About phone', 'Status' and see what it says under 'Network'.
Regards
Mark

Mark,

Yep, under 'Status' - 'Network' it reports T-Mobile!

Oh well, it's working!!

T-Mobile and Virgin share networks I think the network status shows your preferred network ie T-Mobile but your actually connected on the Virgin Cell so that shows on your status screen instead?

but then again I could be talking out of my backside so take what I say with a pinch of salt :)
