Help Bricked phone by flashing wrong firmware. What to do?

Hi guys,

Before tonight I had no idea that there was a difference between the i9100 and i9100G. In an attempt to upgrade to ICS, I used Odin and flashed a firmware for i9100.

My phone now displays the [phone]...exclamation...[computer] icon repeatedly. I cannot get it to load onto download or recovery mode. If I use the three button method, all it does is black out for a moment and then the error display comes up again.

1. I tried using the one click heimdall unbrick, and it keeps asking me to download the USB drivers. It says drivers install successfully, but still cannot go through with unbricking my phone.

2. I tried using Odin again, but it cannot detect my phone.

3. I bought a USB jig and it has yet to come.

My question is, based on everyone's experience...what are the chances of me fixing my phone? Is this considered to be a hard brick?

If I do get the USB jig to force it into download mode, how do I seriously ENSURE that I have the proper firmware? I am still hesitant.

I have already searched and have no found case where the phone is not recognized by odin and cannot boot into recovery or download mode.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums gr2lee! :)

I'm afraid you're not the first, "G", variant owner to try and flash the i9100, non G, firmware to their phone and you probably won't be the last I'm sure.

This was always a possibility, which is why Shotgun84 posted this warning as a sticky, here.

The fact that you've tried to get into both Recovery and Download modes without success means that your handset is bricked I'm sorry to say.

Your best bet is the jig when it arrives as this may just get you back into Download mode. If so, you will need to download and flash your original firmware to get your phone up and running.

To download the firmware for your phone, go here and enter i9100G into the Search box and you will be presented with a list of i9100G firmware's for your phone. Select and download the version that was on your phone previously and flash with Odin3 v1.85, available here.

Good luck!

Hello all. I'm new to the forum and i found this thread interesting. This is what i did:
-Flashed S7580XXUBNI3 firmware to my Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus
All good :smokingsomb:
but not only i get this "Emergency call only" and "not registered on network" messages, but also under "status" menu i found "Network-unknown"; "Service state-Out of service"; "Mobile network state-Disconnected" and "Device status-Custom"
Now i can't make/recieve calls/sms. just wifi
What to do now?
