Help Bricked- reversible?

Good day everyone,
I am a total noob so forgive me.
A friend of mine attempted to upgrade the firmware of his Samsung SCH-R910 (MetroPCS) from 2.1 to 2.3
Everything went fine until it hit 98%, a "failed" error showed on the screen and the phone pretty much bricked.

The screen itself is unresponsive and does not flash... I attempted to enter download mode(9+power)... the qwerty keyboard lights flash on and off after a few seconds but the screen remains unimpressed.

Is this reversible?

Thanks!

Remove the battery for at least two hours, plug it back in, and attempt to enter Download Mode to use Odin.

However, whatever your "friend" was doing... It wasn't kosher in any way. The Indulge has never had Android 2.1, nor is any kind of upgrade to 2.3 available. I would suggest you tell him to do a little more reading before he tries things like that again.

Hey,
We tried as you suggested but it seems like he really cooked his device.
I informed him regarding the availability(or rather, un-availability) of a 2.3 upgrade for this device... I am sure he'll be more careful in the future.

Thank you :)
