Help Briefing

In my old galaxy s4 I had just the calendar shown in my briefing. On my new S4.0 it alternates calendar and news. I clicked on the briefing gear wheel and in "Show Briefing" deselected everything but "Schedule".
But anyway, it keeps alternating between news and calendar. I don't want to have my schedule interrupted by viewing news. How can I get it not to display news? I even reboot the phone.

I am confused. I've had an S4 for the last 2 years and not encountered "my briefing". Do you just mean the home screen? Have you tried long pressing and dragging the news icon to the bin at the top of the screen?

I couldn't find it at first. It is a widget, not an app. Can you look at your widgets and see whether you have "Briefing"?

Well I never!! Yes, it is there. If you want to get rid of it from your home screen, do what I suggested in my previous post.
