Brightness Adjustment?

Is there an easier way to adjust brightness on the AT&T S3 than going into settings? I'm coming from the Samsung Captivate where you slide your finger at the top of the screen to adjust brightness level.

I'm sure there's an app I could download but I was curious if I was missing a setting?

Not sure. I used to use an app called Brightness Profiles on my Dinc.
 
Nope, I loved the shortcut for brightness on my S2 and there is no setting. An update will put brightness in the notification bar until then I use Lux which is an app that you can use for brightness and teach it to adjust
 
My phone is dimming everytime I open up the browser to surf the net. Then back to normal when I close out the browser. Anyone know the setting to stop that?

while your on the net , go to menu->brightness and colors....its probably set to automatic, turn that off and adjust to your liking. you have to do it while your on the net not in settings
 
Thanks! This will do for now. If only it would take me straight into the brightness setting.. I know, "what's one more click?"

I'll look into this app you other guys mentioned called Lux.
 
CurveFish has a brightness app

got the recommendation from these forums I love it sits on my home screen

I almost DL the wireless/gps/bluetooth vers. but didn't need to since ICS has those built in.

Just to let you know, the brightness controll for the "Video Player" is independant from the system brightness also. You can do the exact same thing for the video player as you can with the browser brightness. I kept exiting the video player to get to the settings to adjust the brightness for awhile until i finally realized this.

Where is the setting for the video play? I click on the menu botton ( bottom left of the phone) just see delete, upload, download, search ect...
 
I downloaded a Brightness Level Disc widget - it's awesome. It has 4 brightness levels and you can adjust each of them.

I haven't specifically tried that, but it changes the brightness on the phone generally, so I assume it would be good for videos.
 
What about games? It fluctuates when I play FIFA 12. Any ideas besides changing the overall auto adjust of the phone. I don't mind the auto adjust, it just sucks when doing certain things.
