Help Brightness keeps flickering when I set it lower than 80%

I'm not sure if this is an Android thing, or if it is a Contiuum thing...

When I turn down the brightness on my phone and scroll lists (like conversations of texting, or perhaps Twidroyd's list of tweets) the screen becomes extremely dark as I scroll up and down. Then it will suddenly pop back with brightness around certain sections of the list, then back to dark again.

This only happens when I take down my screen's brightness. And it seems to only happen when I have a list of data. It doesn't happen in games or browser, just lists. Like my contact list for example. With a big scroll bar. As I scroll, the screen goes very dark then pops brightness, then dark again.

Very annoying.

Anyone else have this? Try with your phone. Set the display brightness to like half. Then scroll some lists and see if it happens. It especially happens in the Twidroyd app as I scroll up and down the tweet list.

Did you ever find a solution to this? My phone started doing this in the browser window when I scroll - the screen flickers, dims, and sometimes goes black. I recently increased the brightness for webpages, though. I'd love to hear whether you found a cause (or solution). Headed to Verizon otherwise. Thanks.

Hey Beth, no I have not found a solution. It does do exactly what you say when I dim the brightness. Only solution I have is to turn brightness back up...

In your settings menu, below Brightness, Screen Timeout, and Unlock Screen, you'll find Power Saving Mode. "Save power by analyzing image and adjusting LCD brightness". Unchecking this feature will eliminate menu-scroll flicker. :)
