I have an issue with GSII, brightness control works fine when I change it manually.
But I have a profile manager program that changes the brightness automatically when the associated profile becomes active and the problem is that when brightness level is changed automatically in background, it has no effect on the screen although you can see in settings that level has correctly increased or decreased.
After, when the screen turns off and on again, changes take effect.
Have you faced that?
