Edit: Title should be "Broke my SMS & MMS" Argh! Not a good day!
A few days ago, I followed the "Rooting the Prevail for Dummies" and loved the end results! However, I found that I could not receive MMS messages from people on other carriers after I went through this process. I could send anything, and could receive SMS fine. I could also receive MMS from people on Boost (well, 1 person on Boost who was testing with me).
I've been digging around these forums (and other forums) and have tried any number of potential solutions, all to no avail. And NOW I find that I cannot receive ANY texts - SMS or MMS. Oops! I should have backed stuff up before I started messing with it all! (This is why I followed a "for dummies" guide! I'm a dummy.)
Here's what I'm asking:
Can someone on a Samsung Prevail on Boost Mobile and who is not having any problems with SMS or MMS do the following:
1) Install "APN Backup & Restore" from the Android Market.
2) In the app, choose "Backup APNs"
3) Connect your phone to your computer, Turn on USB Storage.
4) On your computer, browse to your phone's SD card, then open the folder "ApnBackupRestore", right-click on the .xml file in there and choose "Open with Notepad"
5) Copy and paste the text of that file here. (You can generify your username if you'd like.)
