Help broken home button

What do you mean by broken? Because if you haven't touched your phone in a while, you can only wake it up by pressing the power button on top (the 4 Android buttons on front won't wake the phone). Or do you mean that even when your phone is active (not asleep) that your home button doesn't work? If the latter, than sorry I haven't seen that before, something may be wrong with your phone?

May be a weird mapping issue, or your phone may just be broke, unfortunately. I think there is an option in CWM recovery to check the keymappings; try to see if it comes up in there. If that doesn't work, it is possible the physical button is just broken, in which case you are probably looking at a warranty phone...

If you have CWM, the best option for you is to test the keycodes, to see if it's still being registered at the kernel level.

  • If it is, then you have a re-mapping issue; Did you use a root app that remaps phone buttons to custom apps?
  • If it does not show up in CWM, then you have a genuinely broken Home button, and the easiest way to fix that would be exchanging the phone.

Of course, you can also get your screwdrivers and soldering gun; open the phone and "fix" it yourself! :D ... If you don't want to have a new one :/

No luck with cwm, but I used odin and brought it to a corp store. And ONCE AGAIN, I'M BACK TO BASIX! :D I Will have my exchanged phone in 3 days. The lady also said she didn't know that prl 3024 was available yet.... ha!

In the mean time, Galaxy Tuner has a swipe action command setup, so I just swipe left on the notification bar and it goes home. Still waiting on the replacement .

I know this thread is a little old, and I hate to revive it... Buuut my indulge home button, does not work..

And as others have said to try booting into CWM, I did and no the button is not registering anything.. =(

Is there any possibility that theyll exchange it free of charge?

They'll exchange it if you unroot it and have all the stock bloatware apps back on it, yes.
if it's rooted though, they'll blacklist your account and prevent you from returning it ever again, and of course, you'll be stuck with the broken one. so make sure your phone is bone-stock before returning it

I'm going to try it till new years, don't want to be stuck without a phone..

For now like TattooedDroid said, im going to be using the Galaxy Tuner app...
