broken lcd help please.

Hi every one. I got an s3 from my bro, he dropped it and since then the lcd doesnt come on nor do the soft keys light up at the bottom. the glass and lcd are in tact (from what i can see). the phone,led light at the top and sound works and the touch screen responds as i can feel it vibrate. Just nothing on the screen and not lights on the soft keys. Any ideas or help before i Spend on a new lcd. Many thanks. Joe.

try pulling it apart (there are videos on youtube I know) and see if perhaps a connection came loose on the board. Otherwise I'd have to assume the LCD is shot even though it does not appear to be cracked or damaged.
