broken screen worth fixing?

im debating whether to spend money to fix the screen or just get a new phone. I can pick up a brand new phone for 300, the local shop charges 140 for same day service....ive watched vids on how it's done just wondering if its a gamble worth taking?

From the home repair stories I've heard, most never end well. There are issues with the mic/earpiece not working correctly a lot of the time.

As Luna suggests, unless you're 100% confident in what you're doing, it's def worth paying a professional to fix it for you.

The part that made me cringe was when the use of a heat gun was necessary to separate the screen assembly from the outer frame. That could cause all kinds of problems, especially when trying to reassemble the thing.

Ive had the same issue, I would advise against it. When mine broke I ended up buy 3 digitizers but I believe the first two either didn't work or X and XL use different one? after they sealed my phone the capacitive buttons dint work that great and the mic didn't work at all. id sell it on ebay and buy a new phone. or send it to HTC and have them fix it.
