No MSN or E-mail, download accelerators support.

Hi, I have installed the app on my G1 and the SDk for mac. I ran the adb utility (through mac). I then made the changes in firefox. But firefox cant detect the proxy. Besides running the SDK utility, should I have done something more.
 
Ok, I have read the entire forum on tethering my G1. NO LUCK- yet...

I just got my T Mobile G1 a week ago and I think it's a POS!! Really, for a device so raved about... my 4 year old Motorola RAZR V3 can do more than this G1. Of course I've totally hacked it, flashed it and such, the ONLY thing my G1 does better than my RAZR- real www. internet.
G1- NO Saving or forwarding MMS
NO Video
You call that a Camera???
NO Bluetooth file transfer
NO Bluetooth Faxing
NO Bluetooth antything exept headset...
The Main thing missing- Bluetooth Dial Up Gateway!!!

For the last 4 years I used my RAZR for my laptop trips, such a simple dial up process, no software, no CMD execution, just dial *99#

Now to negate all this "tethering"
Can't someone just develop Bluetooth for the G1?

I rest my case.
 
Thank you for Tetherbot, it's been a joy to pirate 3G.

Next step, is it possible to use Tetherbot or adb to change the MAC address of the G1?

If there's any way to do this without root access I'd love to pirate some pay WiFi too...

I've download the program. tetherbot. instaled
start socks
but I don't know what to put in the port bouncer
ip address or hostname?????
and port to forward to????

I've instaled the foxyproxy, as the screan in one other post.
I've used the prompt and used
Windows: adb forward tcp:1080 tcp:1080

but nothing hapens. no erro nothing.

by the way my usb debugging is on.

please help me
 
works great with firefox. anyone have any luck trying to get remote descktop connection working with the portbouncer? I believe it works off port 3389.
 
to anyone who is unable to get the firefox browsing to work after following all these instructions, there is one step missing that some people need to change and others do not. This will most likely solve the majority of all of your problems. In the firefox browser address bar (where you type the www."address".com):

1. type about:config
2. type dns in the box below that says "filter"
3.the bottom setting that states : network.proxy.socks_remote_dns will most likely be set to "false". right click the word "false" and click toggle, which will set it to "true"

This should solve the problem for the majority of you, as stated on this forum in the main thread.
 
Has anyone downloaded the newest G1 system update? Does tetherbot still work? I've been waiting to update until I hear for sure... Thanks! :)

i downloaded tetherbot before the update and never unlocked root access. tetherbot works at rc33 for me, I'm assuming you can just as easily download and use it new from rc33 as if you downloaded and installed at a previous version, but I didn't uninstall/reinstall to check. I am currently on my pc here on the forums with the tetherbot running on my g1 and hooked up via usb, so it works at least for me with these steps.

Works for me on RC33 but I had to change the dns settings in firefox to get it to work.
 
Can an android app access both wifi and 3G simultaneously? Thinking tether through wifi, so more than one laptop can use it etc.
 
I've got a friend who can hook up his windows mobile using cell phone to his xbox 360 and connect to the online content and play games. using this tethered method on the G1, is this or will this be possible?
 
I am having trouble using the adb executable to forward tcp:1080 tcp:1080. Every time I go in to the sdk's tools folder and try to run adb so i can forward it, it opens then quickly closes down, Im thinking about reinstaling sdk asside from that does any one have any ideas.:confused:
 
I have a G1 with Firefos and FoxyProxy and followed all the instructions. Now I don't get any error messages, but when I want to connect to a web site, it seems to respond but always ended with a blank white screen, without any message at all.

The only thing that I have succeeded, is going to the Firefox addons extension page

I'm able to navigate inside this web site and only this one !!!

With all the other web sites it seems to connect but finally I always got blank screens.

Very strange.

double clicked everything in the folder. nothing executed the file? can anyone help me load this into my computer. i have teatherbot in the G1 already now i need to set up my computer to use it. also everything im reading seems everyone is running firefox. why is this? any and all help welcome. thank you
