Help Browser desktop mode

Is there a way to permanently change the stock browser to desktop mode, rather than mobile view? The about:useragent doesn't seem to last very long.

Don't bother with the stock browser.. use something more powerful as in Dolphin HD.
Using Dolphin HD go to More/Settings/User Agent and select either Android [Default], Desktop, iPhone, iPad or Custom.
