Browser-independent proxy solution?

Hello

Since Privoxy doesn't really seem ported and supported on Android, I set up a Linux device with Privoxy at home.

Now, I'd like to configure my non-rooted Galaxy Nexus 4.2.1 so that any browser (I use Chrome and Dolphin) can connect out to that web proxy and receive web pages cleaned from ads and other heavy contents.

I tried "HTTP Proxy Settings", but it doesn't work: Browsers just ignore it.

Is there a solution for a non-rooted device?

Thank you.
