Help browser password

Hey guys i have a rogers x10a and the browser has been annoying me with regards to password. some random websites limit the character allowance to less than the required. for example the York University password must be atleast 8 chars, however when i try to sign in it only lets me type in 5 chars and so it says wrong password. any suggestions? thanks
 
I went to York's website and I could put 9 characters in the username and 8 characters in the password fields. On my computer, same thing, so it seems the website is working as it should be.
