Could one of you test something for me? Can you log into say your bank account in the browser, then leave the browser and go into Mail or Messages or just something different. Wait say 5-7 minutes, go back to the browser and tell me if it reloads your bank info and makes you log back in, or leaves you were you left off?

Ok, come on guys... Not one of ya can try this out for me quick? ;) I just am curious because of what I hear on Sense shutting down apps. If it does this, I am really debating on NOT getting any phone with Sense 4.0

Using chrome, I waited about 5 minutes and I didn't need to log in again.

It does shut stuff down quite quickly though, and I have seen stuff close relatively soonish after switching to another app. I can't be more specific, because it's never really a massive issue to me so I don't really notice, sorry :o.

Is Chrome the default browser of the One X? Yes, that is what I've been reading that is shuts things down very quickly.

You have to log back in with Halifax in the uk, hope this helps.

Yes, it helps... Are you also using Chrome and just curious how long you waited?

It's about 10mins, I think the bank sets the time though I don't think it is anything to do with the phone... my T mobile account makes me re-enter my password if I haven't done anything on it for a certain amount of time.

The default browser on the the One X is really good, I use that and chrome (use chrome because it syncs with my desktop). If you are worried about the aggressive shut down they loosened it off a little on the last update and tbh I've never found it a problem, in fact until they mentioned it I didn't even know there was a problem however I am using the tegra 3 version of the phone and I'm seeing there is a lot of differences between the US and Europe version.

Ya, I was concerned about the aggressive shut down of apps. Kind of takes away from true multitasking... But doing a lot of reading on these Ones series forums, it doesn't seem to be as big of an issue as some are making it to be. I am a Verizon guy and thinking about getting the new Incredible 4G which is their version of the One S I believe.

Thanks again all of ya for the input!!!

Trust me. As a former One X owner I promise you that it is very bad. You better hope that HTC fixes it for the Incredible 4G. Most review sites have an all too cozy relationship with the manufacturers and just choose not to mention it. If you really want to know how bad it is Google "HTC One X multitasking".

I will do that, what types of situations were you running into?

Basically the phone was killing background tasks very aggressively. If I loaded a Web Page and then opened another app there was a really good chance that when I went back to the page that the phone would have to load the whole page again. If I was watching a YouTube video and hit the home button to do something else the YouTube app would try to load the video again instead of simply taking me back to a paused video. It was waiting my data and it was very irritating. By the way, the YouTube app would never actually finish loading. It would just sit there with those to spinning circles staring at you until you hit the back button. I'm on the GSIII now and after boot up I have 1.3 Gigs of RAM free!! My HOX was on at&t so I can't comment on the international version.
