Help Browser Replacement?

Hi, I got a new SN2 today, yay!

But I HATE the browser :(

On my previous phone, an HTC Incredible S, it would re-arrange the text to get it to fit the screen, regardless of how far or close I zoomed. This Note thing doesn't really do that, and at best just seems to zoom and scrunch a bit, and then won't let you zoom in any further.

It's generally OK, for general sites, generally - but hopeless on sites with small text! I end up squinting at the screen from a couple of inches away. It's hideous.

I've tried Chrome and no great improvement - both seem complete clumsy garbage compared to my HTC.

Is that some aspect of HTC "Sense" that's missing on Samsungs, or is there something wrong with my phone or what?

Or any other browser that deffo DOES re-size and re-arrange text to fit the zoom level?

I use Chrome on my main PC (using it right now) but can't say I'm keen on it as a phone browser. Everything seems tiny and if you DO manage to zoom in to read text, any inline graphs or images mean you have to zoom back out again. I seem to end up spending more time pinching and poking at the screen than I do reading anything.

:(

Mmm, I've experimented with Boat, Opera and Chrome - none of them seem able to do what the HTC browser does, even though all of them have some form of text wrapping set to "On".

Opera has a "1 column" thing which does makes pages easier to read. Boat seems quite nice too.

Guess I'll just have to get used to doing things differently...

Boat does seem pretty good. I'll try using it for a few days, see how it goes.

Cheers!

Try the stock browser and make sure you enable "Auto-fit pages" under setting -> advanced. Once enabled, zoom in on the webpage then double tap on the screen and it should resize and text wrap. It won't work on all webpages. ;)

I've tried out a bunch of different browsers and none of them were as fast as the stock. Mine auto fits the text to the page

That was the first thing I did. It does seem the HTC system has it's own, superior browser.

Have you tried playing with settings? Browser>Menu>Settings>*Accessibiltiy*>Scale Text Up And Down(Mine 162%)>Zoom Amount On Double Tap(Mine 130%)>Minimum Font Size(Mine 17pt). *Advanced*>Default Zoom>Close.

You can get it more to your liking playing with these settings. :D
