Help Browser uses GPS even when set not to..?

I see the GPS icon light up when I'm using (or just quit using) the browser. I check the Spare Parts Battery History and the browser is the only app shown to have used the GPS. But in Browser Settings I have Enable Location unchecked and no special exception sites in Website Settings.

So as far as I can see I've told the browser not to use the GPS in every place possible yet it still does. Any ideas?

I want Google Maps and a few other apps to have the GPS though.

That's why I said 'not needed' turn it back on when it is needed

Pretty sure there is a separate setting which enables the browser and network to locate you for specific actions...i.e- the news/weather app
