Guys, I am in a real bind so I hope some bright spark can dig me out of this hole.
Here's the situation. I am setting up a Samsung Galaxy tablet HC 3.2. IT will be used to view an electronic delivery book for a newspaper run. The newspaper software creates a basic HTML file which contains all the street addresses etc.
Here's the big problem. I didn't realise until too late that this HTML includes some vbscript that allows the font size of various things like street name, addresses, type of newpaper and delivery instrutions to be adjusted. Basically, you set the font in the program and that font size is used in the outputed HTML file.
As you know but, vbscipt is only supported in Internet Explorer, so basically I end up with an electronic delivery book (HTML file) in a very small font. I have reaised it with the guy who wrote the program but I don't think he has any plan to say use a java script etc instead.
So, I am thinking ok.... maybe I can just use the inbuilt zooming in android...i.e. pinch and zoom in the defualt browser. Ok, that works but that leads to a new problem. The zooming causes the page to not fit correctly so you get a scoll bar at the bottom of the browser. This means that if your not precise with your finger movements, the delivery runbook can veer off to the left or right of sceen making certain text no longer visible.
I was then thinking, maybe there is a settng in a browser that allows for increasing text size, like the one in IE where you can have small, medium and large etc. No such option was found in the default browser but I do belive there was such an option in older versions of the browser.
Ok, so my last hope is grap a thrid party browser like Opera or Dolphin. Still couldn't find anything to help. There was a zoom option 100%, 200% but that seems to just mirror the pinch and zoom feauture. One interesting setting I did see was "text wrapping". With text wrapping, I was hoping I could zoom and the text wrapping would automatically fit text in the page such that there was no scroll bar at the bottom of the browser. It didn't work unfortunately.
Short of throwing the new Galxy Tablet off a cliff, any other solutions or workarounds. I am pretty much at give-up stage.
