Help bug in text messaging horizontal orientation

This happens in standard text messaging program.

I often start typing texts in vertical orientation mode, then switch to horizontal and continue typing. However, after I switch to horizontal mode, my backspace key would invoke "delete by selection" mode. Not happens always, but try going back and forth between vertical and horizontal and press backspace in horizontal and you'll be able to reproduce this bug.

I was wondering if it's a known issue and if they are working on fixing it. It's very annoying, particularly if the conversation history is long ("delete by selection mode" goes to the very top of message history, so I have to scroll down again)

You are not alone. I find it triggers when I hit backspace quickly and repeatedly on occasion.

It's a little known bug of the Gingerbread update, you can try installing another keyboard, that might resolve or prevent it from happening as often.
